I'm 35 & live in Portland Oregon, grew up in Long Beach California for 26
yrs before I moved here. I have played music since I was 8, drums, then,
bass, vocals, harmonica, piano, one of those assholes who can do everything.
I hate to say it but I disagree with your take on the 80's Punk Bands, where
are you from Cleveland? That's cool, but you should have heard of a band
like "X" or "the Minutemen" or how about 'Bad Religion"? Not like these are
my all time favorite bands, but no way can you lump them in with the bands
you think suck...sure the Germs were sloppy fags, so were the Pistols,
that's exactly what gave them charisma. Sorry you missed the So Cal
experience, even at 13 I knew there was alot more to that music then you let
on in your last attempt to answer a simple question.
good luck to you. & actually I do enjoy this web page and some of the things
you have to offer.
Take care,
Forever Punkin'

BRETT SAYS...
Thanks, Greg. I get a lot of email regarding my post about “punk rock” -
PUNK POST - But I feel strongly about what I said. The proof really is not that hard to find – just look at the sales, or lack thereof, of any punk album or band. Not one of those bands still exists. Some of those bands were only together for like a week. I go with true art – bands that can last because the music is raw and honest. Bands I like are bands that changed the way we lived out lifes. More proof that I’m backing the right horse? KISS and Poison are not only still kicking ass and taking names some 30 years later, but they are touring together – playing stadiums, no less. How many punk bands can say they got to play at a stadium filled with screaming fans? Answer is ZERO…
Gob Bless,
Brett
