Anyone who thinks that the military's decision to fly a 747 along with a fighter jet around Manhattan's financial district wasn't part of some special psych ops needs to wake the fuck up.
What is a psych op you ask?

Dedicated psychological operations units exist in the United States Army. The United States Navy also plans and executes limited PSYOP missions. United States PSYOP units and soldiers of all branches of the military are prohibited by law from conducting PSYOP missions in the US.(Executive Order S-1233, DOD Directive S-3321.1, and National Security Decision Directive 130.) While United States Army PSYOP units may offer non-PSYOP support to domestic military missions, they can only target foreign audiences. However, domestic Federal law enforcement agencies like the FBI are exempt from the above-mentioned law.
During the Waco Siege, the FBI and BATF conducted psychological operations on the men, women and children inside the Mount Carmel complex. This included using loudspeakers to play sounds of animals being slaughtered, drilling noises and clips from talk shows about how much their leader David Koresh was hated. In addition, very bright, flashing lights were used at night.[citation needed]

OK, I'll bite...
WTF are you implying?
President Obama is trying to scare the people of New York City?
Granted, it's not the best idea to fly planes at low altitudes around the city. However, authorites were notified prior to the event - which was to shoot some promo footage, etc. Yeah, maybe Sunday morning at 6:00am would of been a better idea -- but to tie this into some conspiracy theory is silly.

So you think it's more likely that this is an attempt to conduct psychological warfare against Americans than it is that somebody just fucked up? Serious question - I'm not giving you a hard time. Personally I think it's a lot more likely that some idiot was too stupid to think about the impact this would have.

For this they fucked with the minds of millions?
As I predicted the guy in charge of this decision was shitcanned. A well paid fall guy indeed. The photo isn't even that professional.
Once news broke that an Air Force One jet buzzed Lower Manhattan for a photo op, do you think Obama aides checked to see where Vice President Biden was?
Thankfully for the president, it wasn’t the Veep’s idea. It was Louis Caldera, the director of the White House Military Office (WHMO), who rubber-stamped the mission and ultimately paid for it with his job.
Caldera submitted his resignation yesterday and to no surprise, it was promptly accepted. The White House wants the memory of this fiasco to fade — and fast.
“I have concluded that the controversy surrounding the Presidential Airlift Group’s aerial photo shoot over New York City has made it impossible for me to effectively lead the White House Military Office,” Mr. Caldera wrote. |
