gary leonard captures brett meisner's trademark thumbs up for his fans from up in the tree
|
Sometime just before 4:00pm, we received a call from a Grammy-winning record
producer and composer informing us that Brett Meisner had stopped by his
Malibu compound in the early morning hours on Wednesday, December 11, 2002.
After borrowing a pillow and two blankets from one of the maid staff, Brett
proceeded to the back yard and climbed some thirty feet into a nearby tree.
Prior to his climb Brett had informed the homeowner, whom he has known for
some fifteen years, that he was inspired by the recent tree-sitting protest
of John Quigley. His hunger strike having been cut short without his
permission, Brett intends to stay up in the tree until his article appears
in Rolling Stone Magazine or until an acceptable resolution can be
negotiated. Wallflowers front man Jakob Dylan apparently found
Meisner on the Pacific Coast Highway last night and drove him to the unnamed
location. Although issuing no official comment, Jakob wishes Brett the best
of luck with his cause. Requesting that his protest be documented for the
world to see, Veteran L.A. photographer Gary Leonard was called to the
scene. As for us, were just happy that Brett has been found. Furthermore,
we hope that this whole matter comes to a conclusion soon so that Brett can
get back to work on his television show and other on-going projects.
